Marathon Consulting Sponsors 2nd Annual "Walk/Run to Remember"

Marathon Consulting announced the results of the 2nd Annual "Walk/Run to Remember" fundraising event. Marathon served as the Host Sponsor for the event to benefit the Southeastern Virginia Alzheimer's Association.

The event was well supported by numerous community members, drawing over 130 participants and 40 volunteers. In addition to Marathon, IntraNexus served as the Silver sponsor and over 50 other organizations donated various goods and services to make the event a success.

The event was well supported by numerous community members, drawing over 150 participants and 40 volunteers. Participation was approximately 20% higher than the 2009 event.

Miss Lizzie Cornell, a member of the Princess Anne High School Cross Country team, took the lead on both the organization and promotion of the event. In order to provide for the ongoing support of the event, Miss Cornell and her classmates at Princess Anne have formed the "R2R Club."

Mr. Gino Colombara, Executive Director of the Southeastern Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, commented on the positive aspects of such a youthful sponsoring body, saying, "The students at Princess Anne High have set a wonderful example for other area students. The future of these fundraising events is in good hands." Mr. Colombara was joined at the event by Elizabeth Crot, the reigning Miss Portsmouth Seawall. Miss Crot thrilled the crowd with an inspiring rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner."
