Marathon Consulting Takes Second Spot in Monarch Bank’s “Top Flight” Contest

May 10, 2013

Marathon Consulting, LLC, a Virginia Beach-based provider of Information Technology solutions and Internet Marketing services, announced it won second place in Monarch Bank's "Top Flight" contest. The contest rewarded three growing small businesses in Hampton Roads.  Marathon was awarded a cash and services package valued at $15,000.  The package included $5,000 in cash, $5,000 in business services provided by Cherry Bekaert, LLP, a $5,000 promotional package from Cox Media, and legal educational services from Vandeventer Black, LLP. The three finalists were selected from over 200 applicants by a jury comprised of local business leaders.  An online "election" was then conducted among the public to determine the final placement of the winners.  Diaper Junction, an online retailer of cloth diapers, took first prize and Homeland Contracting took third.

Quotes

"We are very proud to have been named one of the three finalists and can certainly put the prize package to good use", said Al Moore, president of Marathon.  "When you look at the list of applicants, it's easy to identify many strong and successful companies among that group", Moore continued.  "To be selected as one of the top three is a tribute in itself.  We can use the prizes to build our employment base and continue our strong tradition of giving back to the community. We congratulate both Diaper Junction and Homeland Contracting on their performance as well. Our thanks go to Monarch Bank for conducting the program and to the sponsors who made it happen", he concluded.
