Marathon successfully developed and launched the official tourism website for the city of Virginia Beach (VBFun.com). Working alongside BCF, Marathon provided Project Management and Website Design & Development services during this engagement and successfully completed the project on time and on budget.

VBFun.com is a high traffic, dynamic website built on the latest Web Development technology (ASP.NET) and serves up user driven content using a SQL Server database. Marathon developed a custom Content Management System to allow users to login and maintain their own listing information that appears on the website. The visitors section of the site allows users to explore events and attractions in the local Hampton Roads area. Visitors are able to research area restaurants and hotels, learn about the beaches, request vacation guides and even plan their next trip.

Along with providing visitor information, VBFun.com also serves as the official site for the Virginia Beach Convention Center (VirginiaBeachConventionCenter.com). This section of the site allows users to view facility floor plans, learn about exhibitor services, plan group meetings and events and submit electronic proposals for upcoming functions.
