Marathon Consulting Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Founded in 2006 by 4 partners, the company has experienced notable success during its brief history. Marathon has provided IT services to over 80 clients. While most clients are in the Hampton Roads area, Marathon has also served clients in Boston, Cincinnati, Richmond, and Northern VA. The staff has grown to over 25, all based in Hampton Roads.

Marathon's track record of growth resulted in its being recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing, privately held companies in the United States in 2010. Since 2007, Marathon has experienced an annual growth rate of 644%.

Over 95% of the Marathon staff is comprised of full-time, salaried employees. This allows Marathon to provide a great deal of continuity to its clients and achieve a high level of consistency among projects. Marathon's emphasis on maintaining a world-class staff is evidenced by an annual turnover rate of less than 5% - in an industry that averages 55%. The Inc. 500 honor is not the only accolade the firm has earned. In 2010, Marathon was named as a member of the Inside Business "Roaring 20." Prior to that recognition, Marathon received an Entrepreneurial Excellence award and was ranked 5th among web development companies in Hampton Roads.
