Organizations often have the need to exchange information among various host systems, both within their
organizations and with outside, third-party organizations. These needs often present complex technical challenges
because the host systems are not compatible and it is impractical to make them so.
We have worked with several clients who assumed the exchange of certain information would be relatively simple.
They soon found that not to be the case because one of the parties needed to upgrade their operating system, CICS
application, and purchase a middleware component that was quite expensive.
Marathon consultants solved these problems by working directly with Microsoft to develop unique, but highly
reliable capabilities. These relied on the host system to pass data to a web service, which in turn passed
the data to the partner’s host.
In one case , this single solution, which took less than two weeks to go from concept to operation, saved the
client over six months of delay and tens of thousands of dollars in additional software and licensing costs.
